Visa and Travel Permit for Tibet :

We will obtain your visa for Tibet. As per the latest notice from the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, any Chinese visa issued outside Nepal is not valid for travel to Tibet and hence the visa for Tibet has to be obtained from the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu. Five working days are necessary to get a visa and original passports have to be submitted then. There is an urgent fee of US$ 30/- if passport is submitted later. The rule requiring a minimum of 5 persons in each group to visit Tibet is not applicable any more. The visa fee for US passport holder is US$ 62/- per person and other nationals is US$ 45/- per person.

Please note that your passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months from the date of entry to Tibet.

Other Permit

We will obtain all necessary permits and other applicable entrance and park fees for both sightseeing tours and trekking.

If Entering Tibet from Nepal
If you are entering and exiting Tibet from Nepal, then double entry Visa for Nepal can be easily obtained at the airport in Nepal on arrival or at your country of residence from the Embassy/ Consulate of Nepal. The present visa fee for double entry is US$ 70/- (subject to change). It will help to speed up your visa process if you are carrying exact change for the visa.

The Visa process work as follows :
Tibet Travel permit is necessary to visit Tibet including Lhasa city, Ganden Monastery, Tsurphu Monastery, Namtso Lake, ect. And also to travel outside of Lhasa, such as Gyantse, Shigatse, Tsedang, Samye, Sakya, Mt.Everest, Mt.Kailash, Nepal border, Nyinchi, ect. It is mandatory that you take a tour package and travel with guide.

We forward full passport details to TTB (Tibet Tourism Board) through our agent in Tibet. After the Tibet Travel permit is issued by TTB, our agent faxes the details to us and the second copy is sent to the Chinese Embassy. The Chinese Embassy issues the visa only after receipt of the original passport and the Tibet Travel Permit on fixed visa days, which is on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Visa is issued on a paper, which mentions the names and passport details of all the members traveling in a group. This is called the group visa. The visa is valid for the duration of the tour as specified in the itinerary. Group visa once issued cannot be separated after entry into Tibet. Hence the group has to travel together throughout the trip and separation from the group is not permitted while in Tibet.

If Entering Tibet from another point :
If you are entering Tibet from other entry points in China, then Chinese Visa should be obtained from your country of residence. It helps if you do not mention Tibet while acquiring your Chinese visa.

It is advisable to book your tour at the earliest possible or at lease 2 weeks in advance weather you choose to travel by air or by train. This will enable us to acquire the air /train tickets and the Tibet Travel permit and other necessary permits for you.
