FOOD AND WATER
Hotels and restaurants in
Kathmandu, Pokhara and other
major tourist destinations
cater to numerous verities

cuisines. Food provided in
reputed hotels and
restaurants are hygienic and
safe to eat. If in doubt,
avoid raw salads and always
use mineral water to drink.
Tap water anywhere is unsafe
to drink. Well-cooked food
is the best guarantee
especially when eating out. |

ELECTRICITY
The standard current is
220-V and 50 cycles. It is
advisable to carry an
adaptor/transformer if you
are using appliances of
different voltage. Major
hotels do have the facility
for both 220 as well as

Standard time in Nepal is 5
hours 45 minutes ahead of
GMT, 15 minutes ahead of
Indian standard time, and 2
hours 15 minutes behind
Beijing time. Tibet follows
