- All hotels and banks have the facility for changing money as per daily exchange rate.

 - US$ hard cash or Travelers Cheque is normally accepted at all business establishments. Personal cheques are not accepted.

 - Credit cards like American Express, Master and Visa are widely accepted at major hotels, shops and restaurants in Kathmandu and Pokhara. It should be noted that there is normally a service charge of approx 3 % on all purchases by credit card.

 - Obtain receipts when changing foreign currency to Nepalese currency from authorized moneychangers.

 - It is advisable not to change too much Nepalese currency at a time, as it might cause difficulty to change it back to foreign currency while leaving the country.
