IMMUNIZATION
There is no mandatory regulation regarding
immunization, but as a precautionary
measure, vaccination for Tetanus,
Anti-rabies, Typhoid and Hepatitis should be
considered for your trip. Malaria is a
possibility if traveling to Chitwan and the
southern plains of Nepal especially between
April and September. Please consult your
doctor before embarking on your trekking
holiday tour in Nepal.
CUSTOMS
If you are not carrying any dutiable goods,
you can proceed through the green channel
for quick clearance.
Import
Apart from used personal belongings,
visitors are allowed to carry the following
items free of duty:
Cigarette (200 sticks) or Cigars (50),
Distilled liquor (1.15 lt. bottle), and film
(15 rolls)
Following items have to be taken back with
you when you leave Nepal:
Binoculars, Movie or video camera, still
camera, laptop computer and portable music
system.
Export
It is illegal to carry antique goods of
cultural or religious value of over 100
years. All metal statues, sacred paintings
and similar objects have to be certified by
the Department of Archaeology (tel:4213701,
4213702) before being carried out of the
country. Handicraft dealers or your local
travel agent will be happy to assist you in
this process.
AIRPORT
TAX
Airport tax is levied on departure for both
International and domestic flights.
International :
Departing for SAARC member countries = Rs.
1,356/- (approx US$ 20/-)
Departing for other countries = Rs.
1,695/-(approx US$ 24/-)
Domestic :
Domestic Airport tax = Rs. 170/- (approx US$
3/-)

Baggage allowance:
Passengers traveling in Economy class = 20kg
Passengers traveling in Business class = 30
kg
Reporting time
Passengers should report at the airport 2
hours ahead of flight time.
Please make sure that
1. All exposed films are hand carried, as
check-in luggage is subjected to film-unsafe
x-rays.
2. You have an exact amount of airport tax
in Nepalese currency.
3. The department of archaeology has
certified any antiques that you have
purchased.
4. Any sharp objects like knives, scissors,
inflammable objects like lighters, matches
and batteries are not hand |
