Accommodation :
|
|
|
The Tourism Authority of Bhutan (TAB),
regulates hotel standards and all travel
regulations in Bhutan. Most hotels sell out
during high season especially during the
festival season and it is important for us
to plan in advance if you want to attend.
The cost of all accommodations are included
in tour costs For the price you pay you may
expect a much better hotel. In the major
towns of Thimpu, Paro, and Phuentsholing,
simple but clean and comfortable hotels are
available for the visitor. But do not be
disappointed if the facilities do not work
properly as you travel to other destinations
in Bhutan. In smaller towns, modest, but
adequate, hotels, lodges and guest houses
are provided. All hotels have running hot
water and they provide heating in winter,
either an electric heater or a wood stove
which will keep you quite warm and. We will
ensure that the best available
accommodations are arranged for you. |

Hotels in Bhutan : |
Hotels in Bhutan come in all
shapes and sizes. With the
building of high end luxury
resort chains by
international groups like
Aman and Como Resorts, the
overall profile of hotels in
Bhutan have been raised. Now
you will find accommodation
in Bhutan from farmhouses to
exclusive luxury resorts
where high-end travellers
can stay in style.
As tourists, you are
expected to be accommodated
only in Department of
Tourism (DoT) approved
hotels. All DoT-approved
tourist hotels in Bhutan
offer clean and comfortable
accommodation. All these
hotels have electricity,
telephone connection,
individual bathrooms and
running hot water.
In most parts of Bhutan,
you'll discover hotels that
are memorable for their
individuality and in
convenient locations on the
main travelling routes and
valleys in Bhutan. Most of
these hotels are family
owned and run. Hosts are
welcoming and can be
interesting source of local
cultural insights and
information.
Few of the larger hotels in
Thimphu and Paro offer
fairly high quality
accommodation. Generally, as
you move further into the
country from west to east,
hotel rooms become basic and
rudimentary. Hotel rooms
have wooden panelled floor
with decorations of
Bhutanese motifs.
There is no central heating
in most hotels in Bhutan.
(Well, the new hotel in Paro
have Swedish central heating
system installed.) Hotels
rooms are provided with
electric heaters each, while
electric water heaters are
installed in your bathrooms.
In Bumthang valley, hotels
rooms have wooden heaters
called Bukhari to heat the
room.
Restaurants in the hotels
offer buffet meals during
the peak tourist season. On
off season and you are in a
group, a buffet would be set
up. Otherwise, you can order
from the menu (provided the
hotel chef is not on leave).
In larger towns like Thimphu,
you can eat out in other
restaurants in the town.
